Concrete Driveway Construction in Hamilton & The Greater Waikato Region

Driveway Types & Finishes

Choose plain brushed concrete for affordability, coloured oxide for kerb‑appeal or exposed‑aggregate for texture and traction. Borders, saw‑cut patterns and decorative inlays personalise entrances, while sealed finishes resist oil stains.

Every driveway slab is reinforced with mesh for long‑term durability. See finish photos on our driveway gallery for design inspiration.

Site Prep & Drainage

We excavate organic soils, add compacted GAP 40 basecourse and set boxing to levels for correct fall. If your driveway is on the slope then channel or cesspit drains can be planned and designed to capture run‑off water, protecting your garage from ponding. If we find weak clay then geotextile fabrics are used to prevent base contamination that reduces settlement cracks. Proper prep is the secret to decades of crack‑free driveway performance.

Pouring & Curing Process

Normally driveway concrete arrives from one of the bigger plants Golden Bay or Firth plants (in 20 MPa‑plus mixes, placed and bull‑floated for density. Available finishers are either broom texture or seed aggregate before trowel edging. Saw‑cuts and control joints follow within next day or two, directing shrinkage cracks neatly along planned lines.

Drive‑on access usually takes up to 7 days from the pour.

  • What concrete materials are chosen
